Why it's different

From spoken thoughts to finished text.

On Mac, Fluid Speech Mini handles transcription. Fluid Intelligence then cleans up your words with a Fluid-1 model — all locally, by default.

01

You speak

Hold one hotkey and talk normally — ums, stumbles, and mid-sentence changes of mind included.

02

Transcribed on-device

Fluid Speech Mini converts your audio to text on your device.

03 · Fluid-1

Fluid-1 rewrites it

Our custom-trained post-processing model strips filler, fixes casing, formats structure, and matches the tone of the app you're in.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Yes. We’re expanding to other platforms, starting with Windows and iOS. The Mac app is available now, Windows is in beta, and the iPhone beta is available through TestFlight. Linux and Android are on the waitlist. Features and model availability vary by platform.
Start with Fluid Speech Mini for transcription and Fluid-1 Pico for text cleanup. Together, Fluid Speech Mini and Pico have a combined download under 1 GB and use under 1 GB of memory for this setup. Pico itself is a 600 MB download. Memory use can vary with recording length and workload.
By default, your audio and dictated text are processed locally. If you choose an optional cloud provider, the content needed for that feature is sent to that provider. Optional usage analytics are separate from dictation content.
Yes. FluidVoice is completely free and open source.
FluidVoice requires macOS 15.0 Sequoia or later, plus microphone access and accessibility permissions for typing.
Yes. Current version supports Intel Macs by using Whisper models.
On Mac, FluidVoice supports Fluid Speech Mini, Nemotron Speech 3.5 (Ultra Fast Low Latency and Multilingual), Parakeet Flash (Beta), Parakeet TDT v3, Parakeet TDT v2, Cohere Transcribe, Apple Speech, and Whisper Tiny/Base/Small/Medium/Large.
Fluid-1, Fluid-1 Mini, and Fluid-1 Pico are available now for local text cleanup through Fluid Intelligence on Mac. Pico is a 600 MB download; Mini is under 1.5 GB. Pair a Fluid-1 model with Fluid Speech Mini for local transcription and text cleanup. Speech recognition and text cleanup are separate steps, and hardware requirements vary by model.
Language support is model-specific: Nemotron Speech 3.5 supports ~40 languages, Parakeet Flash and Parakeet TDT v2 are English-only, Parakeet TDT v3 supports 25 languages, Cohere Transcribe supports 14 languages, Apple Speech depends on macOS system languages, and Whisper supports up to 99 languages depending on model size.
FluidVoice is local-first and uses local speech models for dictation. AI enhancement can use optional providers such as OpenAI, Groq, or custom providers, so cloud use depends on the features and providers a user enables.
Permissions vary by platform. On Mac, FluidVoice needs microphone access for recording and accessibility permission to type into other apps. Follow the Windows or iPhone onboarding for the permissions needed there.
From 2026-02-23 onward, FluidVoice is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPLv3). Versions before that date used Apache License 2.0.
Optional anonymous analytics, FluidVoice does not collect voice, raw audio, transcribed text, prompts etc. No sensitive info leaves your mac
